A person who holds a grudge is like a dog who keeps barking long after an intruder has gone.

Down Come the Rainbarrels
The rain barrels must be taken down for the winter. Frozen water doesn't flow. My routine is to put them up around April Fool's Day and take them down around All Saints Day.
These pictures are from August.
Sometimes the trail camera takes pictures of wind. Rain is a little easier to see.
This runoff bucket is the reason the trail camera was positioned there. My hope was that the camera would catch the culprit. You see, every now and then this bucket is found lying on its side. Who is doing it? Alas. There are no pictures of anybody caught in the act. Not even the wind.
Suspects abound.
Ducks like water but it's probably not them.
Not highly likely.
Other suspects:
Unlikely, a bucket is not her style. She'd rather lick dew off the side of the rain barrel.
Maybe

Some Trail Camera Stuff!
Lily on point.
Henry after berry picking. For some reason, he looks crazed. Maybe it's because Lynn doesn't share.

Breed Profile: Pumi
The Pumi is a small/medium sized herding dog from Hungary.
The Pumi was originally used as a drover of cattle. His work ethic gained him other jobs around the farm- herder, hunter, vermin killer and guard. The Pumi herds/droves by close contact, rapid movement, barking and nipping.
Ever the active dog, the Pumi is also known to participate in obedience, dancing and agility...
Height: 15-19 inches at the shoulder
Weight: 18-33 pounds
The coat is curly and grows constantly, similar to a Poodle coat. It must be trimmed every 2-4 months. Coat colors: black, white, cream, red, grey
The Pumi personality is affectionate, independent, lively, bold, expressive, suspicious of strangers, intelligent, highly inclined to bark and possesses a playfulness that is maintained into adulthood.

Hazel is a Grown Up
Hazel is a grown up. She is almost two.
She has more moments of calm.
(So lady-like!)
She is even allowed on the bed with the other big dogs.
Clover still isn't willing to be pals with Hazel. Though she has lightened up on the growling, the dirty looks continue as does the occasional snubbing.

Not the hoped for Harmony
Hazel came to live with us at the tender age of 7 weeks.
That was some 9 months ago.

Hazel is a Drama Queen
Hazel got spayed yesterday. Yes, yes, it's major surgery and all. She could be heard whining from the lobby of the veterinarian. She sat stiff and tragic in the car on the drive home.
They shaved me and put me in a cage. I threw up on my ears.
It feels strange when I squat to pee. I'm glad Lynn washed that smell off my ears. Why am I so tired? I didn't get to walk today or play or anything. Phooey.
Well anyway. Thanks for taking that cone off my head before the photoshoot.

Trail Camage 13
Mighty Henry caught a mole the other day.
(Both Henry and the mole were unharmed.)
Meanwhile, there are other dogs around here having fun too.
It can't all be fun though, must prepare for winter.
It's here.

Decked Halls
This year we jettisoned the Christmas Tree. The late and very wise Mabel's indifference to the tree many years ago, was surely a portent.
Though we're scaling down some of the jolly embellishment, that doesn't mean the Bad Dog Ranch isn't properly adorned. We kept the Manger, of course.
There's also Santa walking his hedgehog.
Some snowmen have an alien encounter.
Lily reluctantly wears a festive holiday ribbon.
Alas, nobody rocked the festive holiday ribbon like the late humble Rosebud.
Merry Christmas from all of us here at Bad Dog Ranch.
