Hazel is a Drama Queen

Hazel got spayed yesterday.  Yes, yes, it's major surgery and all.   She could be heard whining from the lobby of the veterinarian.  She sat stiff and tragic in the car on the drive home.

They shaved me and put me in a cage.  I threw up on my ears.

It feels strange when I squat to pee.  I'm glad Lynn washed that smell off my ears.  Why am I so tired?  I didn't get to walk today or play or anything.  Phooey.

Well anyway.  Thanks for taking that cone off my head before the photoshoot.

We Still have Cats

Some of you may recall reports on the feral cat population here at the Bad Dog Ranch.

During winter I leave food out for them.  This cat (aka FFC) is the one I see most frequently partaking of the food.  He sometimes leaves his mark next to the food bowl.  In spite of that, now and then a different cat is spotted visiting the bowl.

This may be him!

The notion that inviting feral cats into the inner perimeter would result in fewer mice has not proven to be sound.

What happened recently might be considered proof.  We got a new refrigerator!  We moved the old one into the garage.  (To store the cat food!)  Naturally, I did some reorganizing and sweeping in the garage prior to this momentous new arrangement.

Well, the amount of mouse poop sweepings can best be described as deep.

Does that mean no more free lunch for Fluffy Feral Cat and his brethren?

Nah.

Happy New Year everybody!

Being asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God was coming, Jesus answered them, "The kingdom of God is not coming with signs to be observed; nor will they say, 'Behold, here it is!' or 'There!' for behold, the kingdom of God is in your midst."
