A Little Bird Music

The hours of daylight keep growing longer, concurrent to increased bird activity.

The chorale is warming up.
There is a road that leads to love.
A red winged blackbird male is on top of a nearby tree
waving his wings around, screeching and squawking.
Surely this female is only pretending not to notice.

This fellow has been singing a sweet simple melody.
He sounds somewhat like a canary.

Snow happens.  It's still winter, after all.

Flickers have been active for some weeks now.
It takes time to carve a nest in a tree truck.
The early bird gets the first brood.

Bird online.

  1. The red winged blackbirds can be fiercely territorial during nesting season.

    1. That's for sure! They will dive bomb your head if you get too close.

  2. Great post today, I adored the birds walking the road to love !
The sweet little fluffy red bird was so cute.

    cheers, parsnip

  3. That first photo is a great shot--well they all are--but it made me think of Christmas ornaments decorating your barren tree.
