Seeds of Winter

There was a new face at the bird feeder last week.

Up until a couple days ago when we got some snow, you wouldn't have known it was January.  Therefore, bird traffic patterns have been rather atypical.

This rooster hung around for over an hour.  He cock-a-doodled a few times but his gals did not join him.  They opted not to cross the road.

Why?  We may never know.

  1. It might have had something to do with the notion that any time away from the rooster is a good thing.

  2. I can not comment any better than William

    cheers, parsnip

  3. It happens so often that I am not longer surprised when my jokes bomb.

  4. I always wondered whether it was a hen or a rooster that crossed. Thanks for the riddle. Now I'll ponder on that for a few hours! Lol
