Good Friday

And being found in human form
he humbled himself and became
obedient unto death, even death
on a cross.

Therefore God has highly exalted him
and bestowed on him the name which
is above every name, that at the name
of Jesus every knee should bow, and
every tongue confess that Jesus Christ
is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Philippians 2:8-11

  1. And the Pharisees, the religious leaders of the time, didn't recognize the Christ when he was standing before them. Have you ever read Eli by Bill Myers? He gave an interesting take on how the Lord might have been received if he had come today instead of 2000+ years ago.

    1. No, I haven't read Eli. It's an interesting notion to consider.

Would things be different if Jesus became man now, rather than 2000 years ago. Who knows. Sadly, the more I learn about history and humanity, the less I believe people would react any differently now in "modern" time than then in "primitive" time.

God must have had a reason for choosing that time and that place.

  2. Happy Resurrection Day, Lynn!
