Trail Camage 9
This a fork in the trail.
Here we have a doe minding her own business.
Now she's running with another doe. From what- we don't know.
Later, another doe and her fawn pass through.
The cute factor on that fawn is pretty high.

When a New Member Joins the Pack
It's not always a smooth nor peaceful transition.
I've had it up to here with that brat. She is too damned friendly.
She jumps on me and slobbers.
We don't like her.
You monsters might recall how Lois suffered.
We weren't that bad.
Besides, Lois was a saint.
Lois's sainthood is not the issue. We are talking about the Hazel problem.
I've been growling and stuff. She's not afraid of me! Why is nobody afraid of me?!
Let us ask ourselves.
What Would Lois Do?

Trail Camage 8
A catbird hangs out in this cool sort of grapevine cave.
Here's what it looks like through the "entrance", that is, the opening that can be seen from the trail.
The inside is fairly small- three or four feet in diameter.
You can see the wall of the grapevine cave on one side
On the other side the wall is covered by a wild rose hedge. (I wish I'd taken this picture a month ago. It was full of white flowers.)
Skunk.
Groundhog.
?!
!?

Trail Camage 7
Grackle on a dead branch.
Grackle close up.
Cat bird
Deer with sun shining through her ears.
There sure are a lot of blood vessels in a deer's ear!
It is not conclusive but that just might be a bat in flight on the left.

Meanwhile, at the Homestead
There is a peaceful moment when puppy Hazel is not tormenting the older dogs.
Clover notices some activity outside the inner perimeter. She comments to Lily, "there's a couple deer by the apple tree."
Lily responds by barking at them.
Clover regrets her rash remark. Peace is lost.
"Um," Hazel asks. "What's the protocol here?"

Trail Camage 6
We know there are skunks around here because every now and there's a whiff of skunk in the air. Finally we have some footage.
The activity is pretty close to the house which explains those times we had to close the bedroom window in the wee hours due to an unsavory aroma.
Oh oh. Is this skunk raising his tail about to spray?!
Run!

Pop Culture Frenzy, Round 84
Welcome once again to Pop Culture Frenzy. Today's topic is boozy.
Many bars come up with gimmicks for Happy Hour. A few months ago the Fusion Club in Dubai had a rather unusual one.
What was it?
Molly?
Free drink with squirrel pelt?
Hostmaster: incorrect.
Bryon?
Two for one if you drink it through a mask?
Hostmaster: incorrect
Fluffy?
Drink the first drink standing on your head
and the second one's free?
It's dangerous to stand on your head.
The cervical spine is not designed to hold your weight.
Speaking of weight. Fat people can drink more.
Charge less by the pound!
Hostmaster: close. The Fusion Club promotion was free drinks for women based on how much they weigh. The more they weigh, the more free drinks they received!
Fat shaming.
More like fat privilege.
I heard that some people in South Africa collect
elephant poop and put it in gin.
Interesting nose.
Let's see....woody, earthy, fruity, crappy..
This round is over.

Trail Camage 5
No critters this time. This area is rather boggy so you expect little foot traffic. What's cool is the way light and shadow and color change as the day turns to night.
