We know there are skunks around here because every now and there's a whiff of skunk in the air. Finally we have some footage.
The activity is pretty close to the house which explains those times we had to close the bedroom window in the wee hours due to an unsavory aroma.
Oh oh. Is this skunk raising his tail about to spray?!
Run!
I bet you had to shut your windows that night! We live in the suburbs, but we definitely have skunks around here. Quite often throughout the year one will come somewhere close to our house and get agitated by something and let out a full load of fumes. I usually start out ok with the fumes, but after a while if it stays strong inside our house, I will start to wheeze.
ReplyDeleteIn the last picture is that one skunk and several other small animals, or is that a whole stink load of skunks in the last picture? Just in case it is a whole family of skunks, or a group of skunks, according to the dictionary a group of skunks is called a surfeit. As far as I am concerned one skunk is a surfeit. I always enjoy your trail cam posts so much.
I'm so glad you enjoy my trail cam posts! That last picture didn't show up well, I enlarged it but it still isn't clear. Beats me why the quality goes down when it's posted. Anyway, it's a bunch of raccoons the camera caught in the same area as the skunk.
ReplyDeleteA group of skunks is a surfeit! That is a delightful fun fact!
I've seen the odd one around, but no smells.
ReplyDeleteSkunks are very cute but I have washed a few gud dugs that tried to make friends !
