 Look at this!

The cat is not reacting at all to something flying close to him.  Clear proof that both the cat and the flying object are space aliens!  Not only that.  Some outside power caused the clock on the trail camera to change...

The Thing about Geese

 Having happily kept ducks for a dozen years, I figured I have an affinity for waterfowl and adding geese seemed to be a reasonable thing to do.

Since geese eat grass, they are allowed to free range for most of the day.  The ducks, being smaller, are more vulnerable to predators and are not given the free-range option. 

Geese don't seem sensitive to the ducks' feelings about that, thus the ha ha ha-ha-ha strut.

It's a Badger!

Badgers are not unknown to Michigan, but this is the first time one appeared on our trail camera.

Some Badger Fun Facts:

- nocturnal

- related to the weasel

- dwell in burrows they dig themselves

-  omnivores

Ground Hog Awakens

 There's a little hill where a groundhog dwells.  Each spring when he (or probably she) wakens, she digs a fresh exit from her den under the hill. 

With this opening is an invitation to a male to come in.

After consummation, he leaves.

The New Duck Pen

 Last spring we redid the duck pen,  

replacing it with a fully covered structure, as arial predators were a real threat with the old set-up.

The ducks accepted their new home.

However, the older gals did some reconnaissance outside the area just to be thorough.

 

As you can see, it didn't take them long to beat down the grass.  

Well, ducks do that.

Ornithopters; they are out there!

 

Here we have visual proof that Ornithopters exist!  

It is surely armed with a camera. We are being watched!

A Sunday Thought

This Just In

 Rarely seen footage of a young flying squirrel's first attempt at flight.

I used to worry that the trail camera would show something upsetting, like an owl catching a rabbit.

Now I worry that an alien spacecraft is landing in my yard.

 Yesterday I was going to chase a skunk.  Lynn said if I caught it, a long hard bath would follow.

I don't always heed Lynn's threats, but when I do, baths are involved.
